Papoose/Schurz |
50/40 |
72-67 |
The sharks on the Papoose were "just like in the old
days..." large sharks and dozens, all around. A small blacktip
shark was milling about mid-water. Tons of baitfish hovering over the
Schurz, and a good number of sharks there as well. A great first day of
the year! |

Sub/Aeolus |
60/50 |

Somewhat better vis today, but the seas were a tad
choppier. Another good day at sea! A nice stingray was seen on the Sub! |

Box Wreck |
60-70 |
72/67 |
This site has covered up somewhat since last year: that
huge rudder off in the sand is mostly covered up. A touch of current was
noticeable on the first dive, but disappeared for the second. Still
somewhat chilly at depth! Do we need a safety line on the ladder? |

Schurz |
60-70 |
72/67 |
A sloppy swell made the ride a bit bumpy, but the absence
of wind made up for it! Extremely good conditions underwater: a layer of
baitfish above the wreck was positioned so that you could see the wreck
underneath them. A gang of stingrays was hanging around the bow, and a
few sharks are still guarding the goods. Who says the crew never gets
green? |
